Nokia Unveils WhatsApp Phone

There has been a ton of press coverage about Facebook Home in recent days.
In a similar development of a company making a phone around social features, Nokia released the Asha 210 – the first phone to have a dedicated WhatsApp button. 
To quote, Timo Toikkanen, EVP of Mobile Phones at Nokia, said: “It has been designed to allow people to easily update their social networks, stay in touch with friends and share user created content.”… continue »

Facebook Reaches 15MM SMB pages

Is Facebook an effective marketing tool for small businesses? 15 million small businesses seem to think so. According to an article in Mediapost, over 15MM businesses are using Facebook to market their businesses.

According to a research report released today, Gartner expects that mobile advertising revenue will reach $11.4 billion, which is an enormous increase from last year.

Huge Mobile Ad Opportunity In 2013

A research report released today by Millward Brown revealed that the mobile opportunity this year is huge. Actually it is HUGE. Luckily, the research report was more specific than that. 
To quote: 

55% of users consider their device indispensable, with an equal percentage indicating that having a mobile device makes them more efficient
Almost half report interacting with a brand on their mobile device following recommendations from friends or family members
One-in-four report a willingness to relinquish privacy about their location to receive relevant content and promotion from marketers 
One-third report taking action in response to mobile advertising
One-third say that receiving deals or promotions on mobile improves their opinion of the brand
