Last week was by any standard quite a week. While some the best and the brightest in the advertising industry gathered for Advertising Week, Wall Street discovered that Hurricane season was a) not a problem confined to the southern coastal areas and b) not over.
What did we do during Advertising Week? We deployed a survey, among the people that attended the show and also administered it online. What we found was interesting to say the least. Here’s some of the topline findings:
1. 56% percent of the respondents had tried CPM pricing models over the last twelve months, while 51% had tried CPC pricing models.
2. CPM pricing models were not delivering the goods – a whopping 44% of respondents said that they were unsatisfied with the returns on CPM advertising.
3. The awareness of CPL advertising was high. As many as 77% of respondents said that they knew about CPL advertising.
4. 69% of respondents said they were open to trying out CPL advertising if it was transparent.
5. The percentage split of people who thought Barack Obama or John McCain should be President…well, we didn’t ask that.
We’ll leave that to the others.
