MySpace adds profile sharing functionality

Working for an open lead generation marketplace myself, I am naturally supportive of endeavors that promote openness in the online media industry.
This is why I am kicked about the newest MySpace initiative that enables users to share their user data across multiple programs. Through the data availability functionality, MySpace users can share their data across eBay, Twitter, Yahoo and Photobucket services.
This means that a user who likes Godfather 1 and has indicated as much on MySpace can automatically make this information available to her/his Twitter group. And a user who has deleted her/his admission of liking Godfather IV on MySpace will have this piece of information deleted across all other programs.
Changes in the way content is distributed will undoubtedly lead to interesting innovations in the advertising delivery mechanisms in this regard (more reach, better targeting, etc.), and will be something we will follow in this blog.
