Silly traffic

In this blog, we have often discussed the merits of optimizing your web site for capturing conversions.  Seth Godin has a good point about bounce traffic – traffic that visits your web site and leaves quickly, never to return again.

Many web masters attract traffic through once-off quirky or attention grabbing posts (refer to this blog’s post about Where is Britney Spears now?), but these spikes in traffic are good for the ego and for little else. It’s far more useful to provide a deeper experience for regular visitors and transform them into evangelists that drive less, but more relevant traffic to your web site.
