AOL and Citysearch ink deal to boost local ads

A new distribution partnership between AOL and Citysearch will extend Citysearch’s local content to AOL users through Platform A Network, while increasing AOL’s revenue in the rapidly growing local ad segment.
In 2007, local search was the fastest growing ad segment growing 46% YTY – surprisingly local search is one area where Yahoo! (29.2% share) actually matches up to Google (29.8%).
The growth in local advertising is largely driven by ROI focused advertisers. CPL advertising is the pinnacle of ROI driven marketing, and 2008 will undoubtedly see a rapid growth in the local lead generation segment.
